Meet the owner.

Ari Arisoy

Rugs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I was born in Turkey, near Cappadocia, into a third-generation rug family. After the surname law of 1934, my family was given the last name Halıcı — meaning rug maker. In many ways, rugs were never just a business; they were part of our daily life, language, and culture.

I grew up around handmade rugs — seeing how they were made, used, cared for, repaired, and passed from one home to another. Over time, that familiarity turned into understanding, and eventually, into a lifelong path.

I later moved to Istanbul to study finance, but left school early to follow a more practical education — working directly in the rug trade. That decision took me to Los Angeles, where I continued working in the rug business while attending college.

Over the years, I’ve worked across nearly every side of the industry:

  • Retail and wholesale rug sales

  • Rug cleaning and care facilities

  • Repair and restoration coordination

  • Working directly with homeowners and interior designers

  • High-end furniture and design environments

My work has taken me through 48 states, meeting clients, learning regional tastes, and understanding how rugs live in real homes — not just showrooms.

Since 2018, I’ve been based in Boulder, Colorado, where my focus has become more intentional: offering thoughtful rug care, guidance, and curation rooted in experience rather than volume.
